Reasons To Love Versatile Travel

July 25, 2017

When traveling, there are a number of factors that can significantly impact how you explore a place - the vibe, time of year, as well as the amount of time that you have available to spend.  If you happen to visit a city during the winter, you might spend the day exploring museums, looking for local clothing boutiques and coffee shops, or drinking local beer at a pub.  If it's summer, you may want to rent a bike and check out different neighborhoods, eat something at a one-of-a-kind restaurant or roam through a city park.  If you're in a small mountain town, it could be nice to take advantage of the slower pace, the lack of city noise and the ability to get up and head out for an epic sunrise or a hike in nature.  Traveling can be a magical experience if you allow it to be, even if it's a local road trip or a train ride to the other side of your own city. We travel often and have such a passion for it that we want to share our adventures and maybe even some travel hacks that we've learned along the way.

When you explore a new place with an open mind, you'll probably end up eating something completely awesome and wonder where it's been all of your life. Food alone keeps us wanting to explore new countries, cities and neighborhoods! If you're willing to venture off the beaten path, you will almost always find a gem somewhere, serving up cuisine that might be difficult, if not impossible to get back home.

So we hope that you'll feel inspired to book a flight, take a road trip or jump on a train...hell, if your budget is tight, get on a bus and check out a new neighborhood in your own city.  Maybe some of you will party in the streets of Amsterdam on New Years Eve with a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue (we may or may not be guilty of doing this), or participate in the monthly full moon hike at Table Mountain in South Africa, ride ATVs up sand dunes in Michigan, dance to music on the beach at a party in Zanzibar that lasts until sunrise, cruise down California's famous PCH, bike the Chicago lakefront trail, or even help to build a school and art mural in Rwanda.

Stay in tune with us. Our next post will be about our very unexpected love affair with our neighbor to the north, Canada. Seriously though, it's pretty dope up there.

Ciao,
